Transcripts for input
So, now we are
discussing a new way to get the transcripts into .txt format and also put
them on the WOC website.
The main idea is to take a photo of each transcript, put it online at this homepage, and
then volunteers can enter the game into WZebra, Cassio or any other
Othello program, and edit our wiki page by entering the game in text format. This
will save time for us, and we can print the transcripts to all players
directly.

Icelandic fall, just before the winter comes.

Icelandic weather forecast here (celsius),) or

We need helping hands with transcripts!
Iceland is a new Othello place far far away from the rest of the Othello world.

one reason why we are still missing table referees.
This
will save time for us, and we can print the transcripts to all players
directly.
In order to be sure this would work well, we are interested in knowing how many
people are are willing to help us.
If you are willing to help
us, please send us an email.

News about WOC 2005!!
There has been a change in this
year's World Othello Championship. It was previously decided that each
nation should have the possibility of sending up to three women in a women's
team. However, the number of women allowed on each nation's women's team has
been changed from a maximum of three to one.
So, it is now possible for each nation to send one, and only one, extra
female player in addition to the regular team.
There will still be a final for the two top women in the World Othello
Championship tournament.
We know that many nations have already made arrangements for sending up to
three women in the team, and we are deeply sorry for any inconvenience.

News about WOC 2006
The venue for the 2006 WOC will be
Mito City,
in the
Ibaragi Prefecture, Japan. Each year, the Ibaragi Prefecture has a
learning festival as one of their revitalization event’s that it celebrates
every year. It has many other events such as educational, cultural, sports
and art programs. This festival will be held between October 5th -10th in
2006. We believe that this is also an excellent time to hold the WOC.
Accordingly, we are planning to hold the 2006 WOC from October 5th
through October 9th.
05-08-18 How to
participate in 2005 WOC?
Please read Who can participate.
A email is today sent to all Federations and all chairmans. If youre country
not have get the email, please contact us.
05-08-02 Women´s
team in WOC
For the 2005 WOC, there will be an additional
component to the qualifying players and teams. This year, in addition to
their regular WOC team, each country may send an additional women's team
consisting of 1 to 3 women.
The regular team may still have female players,
while the women's team may only have female players. Should a country wish
to send a woman in their regular WOC team they may do so without counting
that
woman as part of the "women's team". For example, if the regular team has
1-3 women, they can still send 1 to 3 women in their women's team.
The women's team is not mandatory. Due to the short notice before the WOC,
each country will mandate their own specific rules for selecting the players
to comprise the women's team. Please submit those qualifying rules to the
Tournament Director prior to October 15th.
